The last post was dedicated to the famous Golden Gate Bridge and its vistas, so now it´s time to wander around the city. San Francisco is an interesting city surrounded by the ocean and hills. Some of the streets are too steep that I´m wondering if it´s still wandering or climbing. The city is also known for its Victorian architecture, cable cars, beautiful vistas, and summer fogs. If you are fun of the art as I do you will be satisfied too. There are countless museums and galleries, street art or places with affordable art like pathway near Lands End Beach, Market at the Ferry Building, Wonderland SF Gallery & butik and more. And even gourmet will be extremely satisfied! In the city of San Francisco, you will find everything from the world-famous restaurant "Atelier Crenn" (the owner is Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn) to a huge variety of restaurants and street food offering food from all over the world. So let´s climb the streets :-)

I´m going to ride a cable car

They're old-fashioned in the best kind of way and even if it sometimes takes a long line to get in, do it, worth it! Each cable car has a staff of two smiling drivers who are very proud of their job and will answer all questions you might have. One of them sell tickets and look after passengers and the other one rides the car. Three cable car lines run through the steep streets of San Francisco and delivered you from Market Streets to the Fisherman´s Wharf. If you want to ride a cable car outside you have to be among the first passengers because everyone wants it, but if you ask the drivers, they´ll make it happen during the journey. Take it from Union Square to the top of Lombard Street, get off there and walk down the "crooked" street. You can also drive the Lombard street by car, it´s still for free but the city is considering charging it.

All you need to know about cable cars:

Fisherman´s Wharf

For over a century its historic waterfront was the hub of San Francisco´s fishing fleet and is still famous for having some of the best seafood restaurants in the city. Going to the Fisherman´s Wharf in the morning is the best, it gets pretty crowded any day, but not so much in the early morning. It´s nice to just walk all the way from Municipal Pier to Pier 39 and take in the fresh air.

Pier 39

Another attraction at the Wharf is Pier 39 which is very popular for its sea lions, historical buildings, scenic vistas over the bay, variety of restaurants, souvenir stores and an Italian handcrafted carousel painted with famous San Francisco´s landmarks. During the weekends there are many events at Pier 39, so grab your friends and head to the Pier for some wine, music and, fun.

There´s so much to see and say that I have to split the post into parts. So, stay tuned! :-)
